Ten year old Rhona disappears one sunny evening and her mother, Nancy, falls into a state of frozen hope; Agnetha an American academic, comes to England in search of research material for her thesis Serial Killing: A forgiveable act?; Ralph is a loner with a murky past looking for a diversion. Thrown together in terrible circumstances, the three embark upon a long dark journey which eventually turns upwards towards the light.
