After graduating from L.I.P.A in 2003 Sita has been working consistently as a theatre director spanning young peoples' and professional theatre. She has a particular love of storytelling: whether traditionally narrative driven or more episodic, her passion is to find new and interesting ways to tell evocative stories that touch and inspire.
Her specialism is new writing often in close collaboration with a writer. Sita's work often has a strong visual bias but has spanned many different genres including: Classic texts, Childrens’ theatre, Spoken word poetry, Puppetry, Dance and Live art. Her influences vary greatly from Tim Crouch to Katie Mitchell with Improbable and Trestle theatre company somewhere in the mix.
Her practice is about experimenting, challenging and developing herself and her skills in order to find new ways of meeting the work and communicating through performance.
In 2008 Sita spent a year on a director training programme at The Sherman Cymru Theatre Cardiff, learning specific techniques in directing text and working closely with each department. This culminated in a production of Bryony Laverys Frozen
